The report also outlines Zuckerberg's property holdings in Palo Alto, Kauai Island in Hawaii, Lake Tahoe, and Washington D.C.

According to Fortune, Mark Zuckerberg, with a net worth of $222 billion, is one of the richest people in the world and also owns a large real estate portfolio across the United States.

However, his most expensive property purchase occurred earlier this year. It is reported that this Meta CEO and his wife, Dr. Chen Huixian, purchased a luxury mansion on Indian Creek Island in Florida, near the residence that Amazon founder Jeff Bezos is building.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Indian Creek Island, a man-made island covering 300 acres, is located near Miami and Miami Beach. The island has only 41 plots of land and about 84 residents. According to the Miami Herald, the starting price of homes on the island is around $60 million, and records show that this billionaire paid $170 million for his waterfront residence, which has 9 bedrooms and 11 full bathrooms. Property records in Miami-Dade County indicate that the owner is a land trust.

Even the undeveloped plots on this exclusive island can be sold at high prices: it is reported that in 2025, a piece of land roughly the same size as the plot purchased by Zuckerberg was sold for $105 million.

Mitchell Duchamp, a real estate agent from Miami Beach Real Estate Brokerage Corcoran Group who specializes in high-end waterfront properties, stated that the address reportedly purchased by Zuckerberg is 2 Indian Creek Island Road, which brings him into one of the most sought-after areas on this already extremely private island. Duchamp mentioned that the western side of the island – where Zuckerberg's property is said to be located – covers an area of about 80,000 square feet, while the eastern side is about 50,000 square feet. He added that this side is also the area where Amazon founder and billionaire Jeff Bezos owns two plots of land. Residents on this side have easier access to the open waters of Biscayne Bay, enjoy a broader view, and have a more spectacular sunset panorama.

"The other side of the island is considered the most attractive," Duchamp said.

Since announcing his move from Seattle to Florida in 2023, Bezos has been continuously purchasing properties on Indian Creek Island. In 2023, the Amazon founder first bought a residence for $68 million, which was later discovered to be just a few houses away from Zuckerberg's property. By the end of that year, he purchased an adjacent property for $79 million, with plans to merge the two plots into a single estate. Duchamp stated that due to the scarcity of large waterfront properties in the area, this practice of consolidating plots is becoming increasingly common among wealthy buyers. Meanwhile, it is reported that Bezos also resides in another Mediterranean-style property on the east side of Indian Creek Island, which was acquired in 2024 for $87 million. According to the "Puget Bay Business Journal," last year Bezos sold his Seattle residence overlooking Lake Washington for a record amount of $63 million.

Indian Creek Island operates as an independent municipality with its own government and private police force, whose patrols cover the air, water, and the island itself. Access to the island is only possible via a bridge with security controls, making safety and privacy its most prominent features. The majority of the island is composed of an 18-hole golf course and a Indian Creek country club; due to the strict membership process and a membership fee of up to $500,000, the number of members is limited.

Zuckerberg is one of the latest billionaires to purchase property in Florida, especially as California is set to vote on a proposed referendum next week. The proposal aims to impose a one-time 5% “billionaire tax” on individuals with a net worth of at least $1 billion, with effects retroactive to January 1, 2026. (However, Zuckerberg clearly still considers California his home. Earlier this year, he also invested $50 million through Meta in the revitalization of downtown Sacramento and projects related to artificial intelligence.) Google co-founder Larry Page also bought a residence in Coconut Grove, Miami, for $71.9 million in January and plans to merge it with another property to form a waterfront estate worth a total of $173 million.

Especially on Indian Creek Island, there is a gathering of many well-known individuals. In addition to Bezos, this includes financier Carl Icahn and former NFL quarterback Tom Brady.

Palo Alto Residential Complex

Zuckerberg's main residence is still in Palo Alto. According to The New York Times, he owns 11 properties in the Crescent Park community. Over the past decade, Zuckerberg has invested $110 million in purchasing adjacent properties, a move that has sometimes caused dissatisfaction among neighbors.

Hawaii Manor

On Kauai Island, 100 miles west of Honolulu, Zuckerberg owns a property valued at $300 million, commonly referred to as Ko ' olau Ranch, covering an area of about 1,400 acres. According to Architectural Digest, last year he quietly added another 1,000 acres of land to the estate, bringing its total holdings on Kauai to over 2,300 acres.

This ranch is one of Zuckerberg's most mysterious properties. According to a report by Wired, almost everyone who enters the estate through its security measures, including construction workers and other staff, is required to sign a nondisclosure agreement. It is also reported that the ranch includes an underground shelter that covers an area of 5,000 square feet and has its own independent source of energy.

Taohao Lake Resort

Zuckerberg created his own mountain estate by purchasing two adjacent mansions located on the west shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City. Lake Tahoe, situated in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and spanning across Nevada and California, has become one of the favorite vacation destinations for billionaires. Sergey Brin, co-founder of Google, as well as Tom Steyer, a presidential candidate in 2020, both own residences in the area.

Multiple media reports indicate that Zuckerberg purchased these two properties – Carousel Estate and Brushwood Estate – for a total of $59 million, which are $22 million and $37 million respectively. According to reports from SFGate, Brushwood Estate can be traced back to the beginning of the 20th century and has only had two other owners prior to this. The property features 6 bedrooms, 5 full bathrooms, as well as a guest room measuring 2,293 square feet.

Luxury Mansions in Washington, D.C.

According to reports on the issuance of Polit tokens, as Meta and Zuckerberg increased their interactions with Washington policymakers during Trump's administration, the CEO of this technology company is said to have purchased a mansion worth $23 million in the upscale community of Woodland-Normanstone in Washington D.C. The mansion, which covers an area of 15,000 square feet, features brick and limestone walls, as well as glass-covered “corridors.”

This version of the report was published on Fortune.com on February 12, 2026.

Strive CEO: The Binance hack incident has not changed the long-term logic of Bitcoin, but it is still too early to determine whether the market has hit bottom
Strive CEO Matt Cole stated that despite Binance suffering a hacker attack worth approximately $6.3 billion, this has not changed his long-term investment judgment on Bitcoin. He described the incident as more of a "bank robbery" of the exchange's system rather than a failure of the Bitcoin network itself. However, it is still too early to determine whether the market has bottomed out.
