Binance Announces That 90% of the Lost Assets Have Been Restored
2026-10-31 22:37:54
According to CoinMeta, Binance has released an update on the security incident, announcing that it has now made up for 90% of the losses of the stolen assets. The ten major tokens including BTC, ETH, USDT, BNB, SOL, USDC, XRP, USD1, RLUSD, and ZEC have achieved 100% coverage by their reserve funds. The remaining 10% of assets with lower liquidity are being continuously repurchased through public markets and the OTC channel. The sources of the funds for this replenishment include: deploying part of the investor protection fund (SAFU), reallocating some of the balance from the contract insurance fund that exceeds regulatory and risk control requirements, as well as utilizing Binance's own company treasury reserves. Binance will subsequently replenish the scale of the SAFU fund to approximately $1 billion. In addition, Binance completed the latest reserve fund proof (POR) snapshot at 08:00 on October 31, 2026, UTC +8, and is expected to generate a complete zero-knowledge proof (ZK-POR) on November 3 for users to verify.
